Fall Festival wrap up!

Woo Hoo! Fall Festival 2007 is done and gone. We had a great turn out. Between 500-600 people were there this year, about the same as last year.

We had a GREAT team of volunteers. I was afraid that we wouldn’t have enough help to staff it, but last minute (and a little guilt!) got us all the volunteers we needed. Thank you SO much Dutch Fork for doing your part for this great night for the community.

Next year we’re already looking at plans to do something different. Stretch our creativity a bit more. Revive the pep in Fall Festival. And to not be like every other church on the corner doing the same thing.

Fall Festival 2007 UPDATE

We are just about 1 week away from our annual Fall Festival. I am pretty excited this year. I will admit it has taken a bit longer for the excitement to build, maybe it’s the unusual warm weather or just life’s busyiness, but it has taken me a bit longer this year to get there. Now I am excited though and I want YOU to be excited too!

A week from tomorrow we will have a great pouring out of our community on our doorsteps. They come to us for safe family fun. Some are even looking for a church home. Over the years we have seen many families come to Dutch Fork due to our Fall Festival. They might not visit the next Sunday, but when they feel the pull to go to church, the remember the one that they went to that Fall Festival at. Or they remember us as the one that cares about families.

We are critical need of CANDY! We have about half of what we had last year.

We also could use more volunteers for games and Trunk or Treat. It’s not too late to sign up this Sunday and to stay after church for the quick meeting.

Get ready everyone to have fun!!! It’s a great opportunity to bring your ffriends and family to and also to serve at as a way of demonstrating love.

It’s that time again!

Woo Hoo! We start signing up for volunteer positions again this week for FALL FESTIVAL! That’s right – it’s that time of year again. We had a GREAT festival last year and I expect the same. Things will be pretty much the same as last year with it being both inside and outside, 2 inflatables, Trunk or Treat, games, and concessions (not hot dogs). I am already contacting local businesses for donations. Unfortunately WMHK won’t be able to make it, but we’ll still have fun without them! Look at Grand Central this Sunday for a sign-up sheet to reserve your place to get involved and “demonstrate love.” The thing that makes Fall Festival as good as it is at Dutch Fork is YOU! The volunteers that are there giving selflessly of their time. Let’s welcome our community with wide open arms and show them what Dutch Fork is all about!

P.S. With Gateway moving, I wonder if we’ll have more than the 750 that came last year? If you have any suggestions for this year’s Fall Festival, leave a comment below!
